Scheduling an Appointment

Student Legal Services can accept intakes submitted, by email, via this web site. It is important, however, to note the following points:

  1. WE CAN ONLY ADVISE STUDENTS OF INDIANA UNIVERSITY, BLOOMINGTON CAMPUS, WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS.
Intakes submitted by people other than Indiana University students do not begin an attorney - client relationship and will be disregarded.
  2. Email intakes will only be processed during normal office hours which are Monday through Friday between 8:00AM and 4:00PM.
  3. After submitting your intake, we will review it and will call you to schedule an appointment so please make sure that you include daytime and evening phone numbers where you may be reached. Please allow 24 hours after submission for SLS to contact you regarding an appointment.
  4. In some cases, we will need additional information regarding your situation before we can schedule an appointment for you. To minimize delays, you should be certain to include all details about your problem on the intake.

IMPORTANT NOTE - Please be aware that unencrypted transmission of information on the Internet is not secure. Currently, Student Legal Services is not equipped to handle an encryption scheme. As a result, email and intake forms sent to Student Legal Services over the Internet cannot be truly confidential

While it is unlikely that an unauthorized person would read your transmission, be informed of the risk. If you are concerned with unauthorized access, you may wish to come to the office and fill out an intake sheet in person. If after weighing "security" your wish is to email us your facts, feel free to fill out the required information and explain in detail what happened to you and what you would like as a remedy. Someone will call you to schedule an appointment after we receive the completed intake.

Yes, I have read all the above information and am ready to fill out an intake form.
